Mission

The Bamfield Arts Council was founded in 1994 by a group of passionate local artists and community members with a vision to foster a thriving arts scene in the heart of Bamfield. Located on the stunning west coast of Vancouver Island, Bamfield offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and creative inspiration. Over the years, our society has grown into a vibrant hub for artistic expression, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds who share a love for the arts.

As a registered society, we are dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive opportunities for both emerging and established artists. Our programs and events cater to all forms of artistic expression, from visual arts and sculpture to music, theater, and dance. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting your creative journey, the Bamfield Arts Council is here to support you every step of the way.

Throughout the year, we host a wide range of workshops, exhibitions, and community events, many of which are open to the public. Our goal is to create a welcoming and inspiring space where people can connect, collaborate, and explore their artistic passions.

At the Bamfield Arts Council, we believe that art has the power to transform lives and communities. Through our work, we strive to celebrate diversity in all its forms, and to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the role that creativity plays in shaping and gluing the community together.

Living in a rural community can make it challenging to access the same artistic opportunities and resources that cities often take for granted. It is our responsibility to bridge that gap and bring equal access to the arts for everyone, regardless of where they live.

Projects

Bamfield Craft Fairs

The Annual Art in the Park and Holiday Craft Fair has been a cherished tradition in Bamfield for years. Organized by the Bamfield Arts Council, it’s a lively event that brings together local artists to showcase and sell their work to the community. Alongside the art, we feature live music from talented local musicians, and delicious food from nearby restaurants. It’s a much-anticipated event that really brings everyone together. With support from volunteers, including council members and locals, Art in the Park is a highlight of the summer, and the Holiday Craft Fair happens in late November or early December.
